What is the current state of the art professional digital microphotography setup available to image gemstones? - leica microscopes leica camera repair handbook review

The photographs and gems I want to know what is the most advanced system for digital photography photomicrography this most difficult of the highest quality. I currently use a Nikon Coolpix camera attached to an eyepiece of a Leica microscope. The main disadvantages are a major problem in the pseudo-critical concentration of small spots / on the rocks, because it is performed with emphasis on grains of 1.5-inch LCD of the camera. Another downside is one-way screw the lighting of the light source on the microscope stage, I think that 360-degree diffuse illumination by the other parts are colored stone with the current configuration of the light. I experimented with other light sources such as lighting tubulars, but are too high and provide access points into the stones. What is the ideal source of light - I think it should be and distributed 360 degrees around the stone. I am looking for a system to the area devoted to the ideal camera and light are produced by the same manufacturer.

I have had great success with the use of a cheap digital camera lens and a printer.
It's really just a matter of perspective.

For a light source, I suggest a light diffuser and lighting of 360 degrees. With a diffuser, you can vary the intensity of light to keep the angle of illumination.

BTW, I threw coins, precious stones, but I managed to coins to cover the entire visible area of a 4MP shot with the camera and the objective 10X preserved. assumed that the holes in the currency will not see with the naked eye.

For the right price, as a whole into a system for you. It would be interesting to build one.
